Although my graduate program is nearing completion, it is crucial to continue learning and growing with the rapid advancements of technologies and techniques in the field of radiation therapy. To be a successful medical dosimetrist it is imperative to stay current on all the new information and maintain or cultivate the skills necessary to create treatment plans that achieve what the physician has requested. Below are my educational goals that will guide me for the duration of this graduate program and beyond.
- Graduate from the University of Wisconsin-La Crosse with my master degree in Medical Dosimetry in December 2017
- Pass the Medical Dosimetry board exam in August 2018 to become a Certified Medical Dosimetrist
- Continue to learn and grow in the field of radiation therapy by attending conferences and reviewing research articles
- Attend training sessions for the RayStation treatment planning system to become proficient in its use and be a resource for the other dosimetrists in the department
- Learn how to create ViewRay plans for the new MRI linear accelerator that will be commissioned in our depart within the next four months
